Can't get any credit cards

I have a balance on my MBNA card which I created over the past 6 weeks, it is £1000, as I lost my job and didnt have a new one until a couple of weeks ago so everything went on the credit card.

Now I have been trying to get another credit card to transfer the balance across. But all the ones I applied to which includes (citi, capitalone, tesco, egg, virgin, Alliance & Leicester) im declined. I dont believe I have any bad history however I have been trying to get to read those reports on your history (the creditexpert one) I applied to this about 3 years ago and they never sent me a PIN after calling and telling them that I have not still received it, called a number of times I told them to cancel but when I try and register it gives I have an account, suppose I will have to get around to calling them one day but I would of thought they would have removed my details by now.

Of course today is sunday and they are not open, so I tried equifax and that site crashed at the end although it seems it took £2 out the credit card I put in the debit details and tells me to ring them during the week.

Really annoyed not sure why I cant get a new card, I wanted to get a citi card too because I have been using shell for years and my mate said it is quite a good card now, at first it was a little trouble but seems a good deal but im declined on that.

Recently moved house, my parents house, and I have moved jobs twice in the past couple of months and moved 2-3 times in the local area where I work but don't see how this is causing any problems :(

The above are most likely the major reasons you have been declined.
Multiple credit searches in a short space of time no recent stable employment history and no long term residence. Probably not on the electorol register at your current address?

  • The six applications you made, will have produced searches that will remain on your credit file for 12 months; realistically, they will have a negative effect on any application you make during the next 6 months (at least!).

Found the problem, got the equifax report and it shows no details for my electrical roll details. It was send off about 4-7 weeks ago, they tell me it is updated the 1st dec so I will be on then.

The credit cards it shows as 1 credit card search in the last 6 months from capital one bank as opt in, no other searches are on there :)
