Samsung, about 7 yrs old? Doesn't work today, it did yesterday. I imagine it's not worth thinking about getting it repaired?
Thanks :-)

hi
have you checked the fuse?? - it happened to me last week - replaced fuse and its working. Its about 12 years old now and still going strong - they dont make them like they used to.0 -
I don't know where you live, but where I live we had a power cut during the night and a couple of bulbs blew here - it could be that has happened in your area and blown the fuse as has been suggested(?)
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

new one for 35 quid.
no way can you repair one for that. unless its just a fuse?Get some gorm.0 -
Thanks - will check the fuse. It says not to take the cover off because of "microwave energy", but...0

if its not the fuse in the plug throw it out and get a new one. Repairing it will cost you twic what a new microwave will cost.0

When you say it stopped working, does it do anything? e.g. does the display light up when you plug it in?Stompa0

New ones are so cheap it is not worth repairing the old one, even if spares were available. Which I doubt after 7 years use.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
It still makes the ping noise when you move the timer button, but nothing else. Doesn't have any lights anyway. Will get a new fuse today.
Sorry, but I think it's outrageous that something like this should just stop working after only 7 yrs. I certainly won't be buying another.0 -
Bump, was it the fuse OP? My mums has just done the same and even though I haven't touched it, because I was in the kitchen I'm getting the blame. :rolleyes:Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0

That's a mechanical timer function then, like a bell on a bike. That's an old style, all digital displays and more features now, yes its repairable but if you have not done it by now I don't suggest you try it yourself then.0
