They cant take more than the confirmation amount because their T&C says:
4.2 The price you pay is the price displayed on this website at the time we receive your order apart from the following two exceptions:
a) For products reserved online for store pick up or any other reservation service the price you pay is the price in store on the day of collection.
b) While we try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.
They have charged me the full amount not the amount I authorised and the amount displayed on the website at the time they received the order and I will therefore be raising a chargeback if they dont refund me.0 -
nb - is the max discount item price minus 1p? My discount amounts dont seem to match.0

They stopped the correct amount from me and I received mine. Thats the chance with a glitch like that to fair we shouldn't really have been using them.
Yes we should have - it told us we were entitled to it. We did nothing wrong and looking at their T&C they must honour it.
Their only get out is if they cancel the order in the event of an error or reconfirm the order with increased price and they havnt done that so they must honour the discounts imo.0 -

If you dont get any joy then you should ask your credit card company to raise a chargeback dispute because it is an unauthorised transaction. You didnt authorise them to charge any higher amount. They will also charge Argos a fee if you do that!
As you have the receipt stating the amount and the Argos T&C does not give them any right to void vouchers codes and / or charge you the full amount (in fact it specifically says the price stated at the time of order is that that will be charged), etc then my expectation is that your credit card company would consider the transaction unauthorised and refund you.
I suggest you state something along the lines of 'I have checked your website and your terms and conditions do state that you will charge the price that is displayed on your website at the time the order is received. Your T&C states that in the event of an error you will reconfirm the increased price or refund, so as the purchase was completed and not refunded you do have to honor the contract.'0 -

my order is due today and the correct amount has been taken from my card.0 -
my order has arrived this morning and the correct amount was debited from my card had no further e mails apart from the original one which did say it was only an acknowledgement and not a confirmation, hope everyone else gets what they are waiting for today.0

an extra £5.87 was taken from the original order price from my account (£14.82 instead of £8.95) , buy i still saved money so wont be drawing attention to it.:beer:0
