Chang of Address - A Tale of Two Banks

Sold our house a few months ago due to separating from my wife. I have an account with HSBC she has an account with Barclays

Me: log into HSBC banking website and change address.
Her: No option available to change address via Barclays website but has to visit the branch. Goes in and is then told that she needs to make an appointment and bring in a utility bill and photographic id.

I'm glad I don't bank with Barclays. Just doesn't make sense to me. She could log in and transfer £10,000 from her account today and it would go through within 2 hours but to change her address logging into the secure website isn't enough!
