I have lots of problems with freezing on my PC and have tried just about everything on it - see earlier thread

A friend suggests I get the regisrty cleaned up,as some 700 errors are showing.None of the free programs (I tried three above) seem to actually do the cleaning,so I'm looking to buy the cheapest possible good one.Any advice?

After all the problems youve had, I would suggest a complete format and re-install of XP
If it STILL freezes, then you clearly have a hardware issue:idea:0 -
I think we've been down this road before..... their next stage was to back up the drivers and documents before a complete re-install.0

Sadly not. But all the driver programs I was recommended demanded payment. I did the backup, but could not update the drivers, despite many attempts. Which explains present post...0

So why not use something like Belarc Advisor to print out a report with what hardware is in the PC then use Google to find the drivers, download them and burn them onto a CD? TBH, the only drivers you definitely need are the network ones because once you can connect to the internet, you can just go off and get the rest.0
