Chelsea FC - brilliant in an emergency

At the recent Chelsea-Burnley match my son fell and broke his arm (which needs surgery). He ended up in hospital in Chelsea with his 15yr old brother at his side. We live in Lancs.

Popped into Burnley FC (also brilliant) to try and see if anyone they knew was coming back up North the following day but no luck so they phoned the ticket office manager at Chelsea to ask for help.

Within 15 mins, the manager was in the hospital taking younger son for food as neither of them had any money left, left them his mobile phone to call home and gave younger son £10 to keep him going. He then went back at 4pm, drove them to the station and paid for the tickets to get them back up to Preston.

This man has restored my faith in human nature! He really did go out of his way, even offering to let my younger boy stay with him and his wife if the older son was staying in hospital. (hospital said he had to leave!!!)

Isn't it nice to know there are still lovely people like him out there in an emergency?? God bless him :T

Thats really nice of him and I would be inclined to write to the club and tell them just how happy you are.

But im surprised someone hasnt stepped in and said in relation to:,
    drove them to the station
offering to let my younger boy stay with him

He's not allowed to do that! thats what the problem with this country now, people are too afraid to do the right thing incase they get accused of something!-

But fair play to the scum!

Well thank goodness he wasn't too PC or my boy would probably have still been there as even up to yesterday there was no bed in Sheffield to transfer him to.

I can understand your point though and that's why the world is how it is with people to scared to step in anymore.

I do intend to write and thank them for their help.

In contrast, a chelsea fan called my 15 yr old a t*** as he was leaving the hospital in his footie shirt lol. Oh well.....

Therein lies the problem. Your statement 'he's not allowed to do that!'. Why? Who said? The reason we have these problems is that people are convinced that there are rules and laws around when they don't actually exist.

Good on that bloke, did you offer to refund the money he spent?
