Simple, europe and USA is off the menu for now.
Thailand, Vietnam and KL etc are on the menu for me.
UK holidays will never be on the menu.

Thanks Tojo - that's what we're intending to do. I think four bottles of Scotch each might be a bit much for four days!
With the option of 4 bottles or 48 cans of beer, between you and a mate you can safely secure 2 litres of Scotch and 24 cans each .... Which should see you through breakfast. ;)

Cheers  I hadn't thought about that option!
  • Perhaps it will mean that the 'tourist resorts' will have to drop prices for drinks etc as they have had a good run of it from British tourists in the past especially since most went into the Euro.

Thailand is at its worst rate for aa while. I lived over there for 6 years and the current rate is pants compared to what you have got in the past.
It is also getting more expensive when you are over there, although that may change as they fight to win back the tourists they have lost due to the goings on over there.

Saying that, we have just decided to knock our NYE trip to New York on the head. We have purchased flights and will lose the money but at £160 each from the Expedia.au deal we think its worth losing the money instead of paying the cost whilst over there in both hotel and general spending. It is just not worth going, a shame but true.

We are now going to Thailand in Feb instead, doing it like a local though and will be spending more time just chilling. The cost of 6 nights over NYE in NY will cost not much less than 3 weeks in Thailand even with the worse exchange rate. I would say to anyone heading over to Thailand, use a nationwide account and get the interbank lending rate at the time and do not buy to many Baht here in the UK.

  • lisaloo - it would be worth trying to get your taxes back from the NYC flights you won't be using.
  • How would i go about doing that Colin?
    :naughty:
  • Would be great if i could as the faares were $400 oz dollars and the taxes $950.
    :naughty:
