Outlook Express spam filter for dummies?

Apologies for this enquiry. There is already good, sound advice on this subject on this board.

I seem to remember though, that Outlook Express provide an address to which spam can be forwarded thereby reducing the volume from each spammer.

I also seem to remember that, having tried this previously, it seemed to increase the amount of junk mail.

Anyone have recent advice please?

Still. It's always convenient to know who to ignore.

Outlook express does not have a built in spam filter.
I have recently upgraded to Windows Mail. It is very similar ti Outlook express but does include a reasonable spam filter. During the upgrade Windows mail imports your mail settings.
New spam filter information is included in the MS updates.
The first time you run it it will ask if you want it to be the default mail program.
Outlook express is not deleted so you can go back if you dont like.

It was genuine advice (from a software developer with 25+ years experience). As you have already discovered, such techniques make very little (if any) difference.

Get yourself a decent spam filter. Most (if not all) ISP's provide spam filtering as standard these days.

I now realise it was a genuinely helpful response. Many thanks.

Windows mail is an updated version of outlook express, when you do the install it copies ALL your settings. You keep the same email address you just use Windows mail to read email instead of Outlook express.

Some info and a down load link here
