Windows media player 10 help needed please

I have some video footage taken as an avi file which i played through media player and have used the enhancements within media player to alter colour/hue etc. I then saved as....... but when i opened the saved version it just reverts back to the original without the enhancements. Is there a way to save the avi file with the enhncements or is it just for playback pruposes only does anyone know?

The enhancements on media player work like a graphic equaliser for music. The changes are not saved. You would need to re encode the file with the changes using another program

Virtualdub is superb for most kinds of avi editing. I don't believe you can alter the hue, saturation etc. with Virtualdub alone, but take a look at the filters for VirtualDub on this page.

You may want to Google for help with this job, however, as Virtualdub isn't the most user friendly of programs, but after you start using it it's easy to pick things up along the way.

I have looked at virtual dub before but must admit it looked a bit too technical for me. Never mind!!
