ICICI rates dropped

As from the 14-11-08 ICICI have dropped their rates to 5.75% 1 year fixed account, and 5.50% for their savings account. I opened another fixed account on the 12-11-08 at 6.60%, but my money had not cleared from cahoot although it was showing as pending, and the new account is not showing along side my others. it takes that long to transfer money from bank to bank I may have missed out. I have emailed them to see whats going on.

They sent me an email saying if the funds clear before end of 14 nov, you get the old rate but if funds clear after 14 Nov you get the new rate... so i cancelled my application!!Kavanne

I have had a look and the funds have cleared, the only date showing is the 12th which is the date the money showed up, I will have to wait and see what they say, if I don't get 6.60% I also will cancell0

Had normal savings a/c with ICICI and on the 6th Nov transferred to 12 month fixed term, received notification 'with rate of interest 7.10% has been opened on 07/11/2008'.
Two days later received e-mail saying rate was 6.6% !
Apparently, they set the rate at the lowest it is on the day a/c is opened.
Not very good PR.0 -
Check the actual rate at which your account is being paid - it's shown when you log in & access the account details, as e-mail information can be wrong.
I've had several strange e-mails from them in the past (including one which gave the rate of a newly-opened FR account at 0%) which, when queried, have been rectified.0 -

Who ever said that ICICI UK Ltd had a good PR ?
Surely most know by now they dont. Why not do a google search of the Bank and you will soon have your answer.0
