Tomorrow's Mirror front page, from skynews.com:The Daily Mirror claims that supermarkets have cranked up the cost of budget baked beans by 53 percent.

I still don't believe that a tin of tomatoes can increase in price by 70% regardless of the cost of fuel, tin or for that matter tomatoes and that it can happen simultaneously across 3 supermarkets.Sainsbury's don't make any profit on their Basics range. Everything is sold at cost price, so any price increases will be because the suppliers have increased their prices.Nothing to see here, move along.0 -

Yes ,I have also noticed how pasta has gone up at the same time to the same price across the board.
The percentages of 70% in increase is blatant price fixing.
Overheads/costs may go up of course,but by 70% ?0 -
why complain though,
, yes i bet she did think you had lost the plot
So we all sit back and take it?
No, complain is the answer, the more people the better, its time they realised they cant take us for mugs.
See the post above about the Daily Mirror headline. At least they are noticing and playing a part.
Just look at the excuses, recently it was oil, now its the rate of the Euro.
Another blames the cost of the tin even though the cost of aluminium is down.0 -
I've just been out on a job and on the way back I popped in to aldi, the chopped toms were 44p!!! (I thought Aldi was supposed to be a cheap shop) but Netto came in at 26p, still more than they were before the price hike but what can you do. You can only have 12 cans per person.Nothing to see here, move along.0

And complaining will do what exactly?
Its not that food prices have increased , more food prices having been very low for the last 20 yrs?
i am always amazed at how little people are prepared to pay for food it seems that quality food is the bottom of a lot of peoples priorities0
