I've just saved and closed a Lotus spreadsheet. I tried to open it again, it goes to 73% open then I get Lotus 1-2-3 Application has encountered a problem and needs to close blah blah blah.
How do I get the blinking thing to open? Could someone please please please save me from hours of re-entering data?
I've tried opening it with Excel but it won't work.

Hi troo
Do you have a fuller error message? Does the program tell you specifically which "problem" it has encountered?
For example try here for some answers to some Lotus issues like yours (scroll down towards the bottom of the page)...

Thanks, it's just the standard Microsoft error message, when I click on 'see what the report contains' there's loads of numbers, it means nothing to me
If I copied them here, it'll take up pages and pages.
All my other Lotus spreadsheet files will open, it's just one that won't :xmassmileBulletproof0 -

Yeah I thought so
I keep one spreadsheet with loads of formulas, then I copy and rename it everyday. The one dated 24-12-2005 is fine, so is the one dated 26-12-2005. It's the one dated 25-12-2005 I'm having problems with. The original's still fine (I thought it might have been that), looks like I'll have to do the work again.
Thanks for your helpBulletproof0 -

Hi again troo
I didn't want to think the worst but it does indeed sound as if you will have to do the work again.
However, About.com has a collection of experts and other users in many, many areas. Try their forums as they may have an answer. Here....

Suggest you keep that duff spreadsheet in case someone comes up with an answer.
Best of luck. Hope not too much work is involved.0 -
