What I find strange about the reports about this number is that they always want to speak to someone else - never the person who answers the phone - if a female answers the phone they want to speak to the husband, if a male answers they want to speak with the wife!0

Think I'll continue to 'play*' with these callers rather than pay that much.
Play* - ideas- Leave the phone by the radio while you 'fetch' the required person.
- Sound interested - and ask lots of silly questions
- If they are the opposite sex - then ask 'what are you wearing?' in a heavy breathing voice
- Scream down the phone
- Take all their contact details - then threaten to report them
- Try selling them something

I remember a guy tried to sell me a mobile phone contract one time. I kept him on for ages as I was having a boring summer holiday (i was 18, about to start uni). I kept him on the phone for ages, wasting the companies money, as at the end I said 'Sorry, I love the phone I have and only spend a tenner a month on it. bye!'. It was funny because I bet the other was annoyed for spending so much time just to get that response!0

I've had a similar occurance but fought the curiousity to call back - I suspect that's part of the scam? Ring, leave no message so that people call back on some ridiculous rate number.
Like the tactics to get rid of cold callers, I think I'll give the next one to my kids to talk to :rotfl:
