laptop to tv no sound

connecting dell inspiron 1520 to sony kdl32v400 by vga cable gives me picture but no sound any sugestions please

  • without going into excess detail, the VGA cable is carrying Video data to the tv, you need to also move the audio, via another cable, if you want sound

    Yup. Youll need something between the 3.5mm headphone jack of the laptop and the audio inputs of your TV (usually RCA connectors.)

    Something like this.
