Is this an air conditioning problem?

My side windows are constantly misted up and the air con does not seem to clear it like it used to. I have tried all combinations of heaters etc...
Is this the main sympton of an air con prob? If so, what sort of cost can I expect to put it right?

Simple things are...
All the vents OUTSIDE of the car, unblocked, of leaves, debris & muck - check around the rear of the engine bay, where the wiper motor & plastic covers are.
Is the inside of the glass clean & not just covered in a film of dirt, you don't notice.
Are the vents INSIDE all blowing (not had a pipe or connector come adrift, or rubbish fall into them.
Have you had a pollen filter changed & not fitted correctly, letting air circulate through the casing.
& any cooling problems - new radiator/burst hose, maybe in the summer, needs the system bleeding.
All else fails, a gas recharge of the air con, maybe £100. Lots places do this as an add on service, so not need to be main dealer. Saying that, check them, 'cos several do this as a low cost incentive, to get your other business!!

I've checked the car all over for any leaks or anything at all amiss and not found anything. It is overdue an annual service by a few months but I was putting it off as long as possible due to the Christmas spend.
Oh well looks like I'll have to get it done.0 -
A slightly dim question, perhaps! All the advice you have been given so far is perfect BUT, is the airconditioning actually working? Does it blow cold when you select cold? If it does then at least you don't need a re-gas, for the moment!0

It does blow cold but I'm sure it used to be better. I don;t ever recall having such problems with the car till recently.
I'm taking it in to a Nationwide AutoCentre when I get my Tesco coupons back!0 -
These problems can happen if there is water trapped in the air con system.Happy chappy0

When I bought my car I was told to use the air con at least 10mins each week to ensure it doesn't sieze up, but I had a similar problem in the winter as Deleted_User - when I used the air con it worked but when I then tried to use the blowers I got a condensation problem. From the advice above I think I must therefore have water in the air con unit. I've tried my air con and it's not working now that the warm weather is here - probably siezed up. Anyway I visited Peugoet today and it is £59.99+vat for a service. Not sure what to do - maybe I'll check the yellow pages. Anyone else got any advice?0

apart from whats already been mentioned in terms of the a/c actually working properly it sounds like you may have it set on 're-circulate' rather than drawing air in from outside....on most peugeots (206,306 spring to mind) you have a slider control with an outline of 2 cars...if the slider is pushed towards the outline of a car with an arrow made into a circle then thats re-circulate.New car (not even 2months old) up for sale:-

Is the problem an air con problem, i.e. switch the air con off and see if the problem is still there, if so the eliminates the air con issue.
Re you air con put it on full low, after a few mins check the temp at the centre vents it should be showing something between 4-8 Celsius.
if your air con is loosing its efficiency its may need leak testing and then recharging, but you still need to diagnose why the sides windows are misting up.
I would have though the misting up is something else, firstly check your coolant level, secondly give your windows a good clean with yes you’ve guessed window cleaner.
Thirdly a small hole in the rubber seals around the door can cause misting up, check these seal using a hosepipe.0 -
My car did this sort of thing once, although the air came out cold there was not much of it. A new pollen filter fixed it.
