Hi, I think the restaurant you refer to is called 'Cantina':xmassmile0 -
if it's anywhere near the charles bridge, no wonder it's expensive!
prague is expensive to stay at if you stay centrally.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
I was in Prague for a week 5 weeks ago and was asked by the inspectors twice.
Both times on the platform of the station so jumping off the train is not an option,I always have a valid ticket so no problem for me.
100 crown (£3) a day for unlimited travel is a good deal so why try to
steal a free ride from a great public transport system.
I am all for saving money but I wont go so low has to steal.
No wonder the locals think so lowly of SOME tourists .
Back to the original post, best tip I can give is take a
Nationwide debit card and use the ATMS once there.
Also Ferdinanda on opletovla is a great pub/restaurant
just by the museum with local prices which is rare in this
area.0 -
what about credit cards?
i have a maestro and that is it will it be ok?
thanks for your help guys think i should be sorted otherwise i will have to sell myself to get home.
anybody used the main train line to get to places other than prague centre?0 -
Yeah, cash points take maestro but the nationwide debit card is the best value anywhere.
I have used the metro to travel around and this was dead easy so the trains should be easy enough as well.

Hi hope you have a great time. Its a fantastic place my friend and I were there a couple of years ago. We stayed in area 7 over the river and stayed in the Hotel Belvedere the meals were fantasic and didn't break the bank. Drink reasonable as well. Didn't use transport walked everywhere. Most places have prices outside so you can make it as cheap or as dear as you want. Take english notes if you need to change money. But really reasonable. Didn't join tours just did our own thing. enjoy0
