Mint offer - 0% and no BT Fee til June

Options
Just received an offer from Mint as the subject says - not an overly long period, but it's free money!

Hopefully we'll start to see a return to more capped and reduced rate BT fees if the interest rate continues to drop.

  • Received a 0% offer for my Platinum RBS card until September 2009.
Again with no BT fee and for me the added bonus of Credit Card cheques.
I was one of those who had their Egg Money card withdrawn and to rub salt in the wound MBNA withdrew my £15k mastercarcard (leaving me with a £100 visa card) so I have no SBT facility.
This offer came outside of my normal monthly statement.
Offer must be taken up by 04/12/2008 so £7500 going straight into my current account on Monday.
In the leaflet there is a paragraph that states 'give yourself some extra cash'

Before taking up this offer I have just made a phone call to see if my limit can be increased. If money is for the making then I want as much as possible and have secured no questions asked another £1000 so I have now got £8500.
Even though this offer has 0% on interest and zero BT fees RBS will still only allow 95% of available credit.
I enquired about getting the limit raised further and was asked to fax/send in bank statements for the past 3 months.
After a few more questions from myself to the CSA I was surprised that they were as equally interested in savings as well as income and after a few more questions ascertained that a covering letter showing both might raise my Credit Limit considerably further.
I must act quickly to decide what information to send in because any further increase would be most welcome.

I did the same thing - requested a credit limit increase and got another £2000 via the online route.

I also have an RBS card - I wonder if they will offer the same deal on that - although I am currently carrying a balance on that (due to clear next Feb) so probably not. Otherwise it would be worth paying off early.
