Help Decide Which Laptop To Buy

As a follow on from this thread, I'm very tempted to buy one from BP.

This is a Christmas present, the person it's for has itunes and only does general web surfing, it will be plugged into the mains so battery life is not really a problem (hope that makes sense) XP will be OK, no real issue about it having to be Vista.

I've no idea re sepcs or what to look for, can anyone with more knowledge about computers than me help in suggesting a laptop from this site

Are you after new or refurbished?

    What is your max budget?

In view of the proposed usage, I'd recommend a used Apple Mac. iTunes works better "native" on a Mac. Web surfing with "Firefox", or "Safari" (or any one of several other browsers) is simple, fast and risk-free (barring stupidity such as responding to requests for personal data and invitations to "download this codec"!)

I bought a 14" iBook for about £230 off eBay and it's been perfectly adequate.

Hi Airwolf, my max budget is around £250, I know I'm not going to get top of the range for that, as regards new or refurbished tbh, I've no idea what to do for the best.
