I have a nephew who has a newly installed prepaid key meter for his electric.

He has just phoned us because he has lost his key, what can he do?

I don't even know if he has any emergency credit left as he has used about £13 of electricity in 4 days, I suspect not.

I've looked online and some say the leccy will stay on til 9am monday morning if there was 1p of credit left beofre 6pm friday, some say it's 6pm saturday.

I haven't a clue so don't know what to do, but need to be careful as nephew is know to hoodwink people where possible, so I want to help him, but need do so wisely.

Any advice greatfully recieved.

Tell him to call Scottish Power and they can arrange for him to go to a local shop and buy a key. BG charge £8 for this but I'm not sure if it the same for all suppliers.
