Signature - not allowed to help people!?

My signature appears to have been changed by site admin as it broke the site rules. All it said was that if people needed any further help/advice based on my messages, then please PM me...
I can't see why offering to help people further is against site rules?!!
I'll happily change it, but it doesn't seem to be in the spirit of the site to have removed my signature.
Rant over

If you have a problem with what's happened or you don't think your signature WAS against site rules, you can always send an email to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com and request approval.
But you might want to see this rule first.
Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Please explain why you think that site site rules do not apply to you!
He didnt say the site rules shouldnt apply to him though. Just the quote you've done makes it look like he's said that. If you'd quoted the next bit:I can't see why offering to help people further is against site rules?!!
I'll happily change it....
Notice how he says he will happily change it, and he also says 'I cant see why its against the rules'.
I cant see where he said the site rules dont apply to him.......This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0 -

Thanks for the support Gaz!!
You're quite right, I didn't say the rules don't apply to me! They definitely do... I just couldn't understand why I wasn't allowed to offer members help in my signature. I thought I was being friendly, offering anyone help... so was very confused that it got removed.
There were no links, adverts etc. It was fairly short. I couldn't work out what rule it broke!!!
I'm not above the rules... but it annoys me when my signature is removed if (a) I havn't broken a rule (as far as I'm aware) and (b) I was just trying to help people!

Surely most users on the forum help other people on the forum but by offering to help users via PM's in your signature in every post you are advertising your services and that is not how forums work. I did not see your sig. but the forum team has decided that your sig. broke the rules, so accept it. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Hi,
Well, perhaps like you suggest it counts as "advertising my services"... although I hasten to add, it's not like I was offering help as a business opportunity!! It was just a friendly message!
And yes, I should accept the decision of the forum mods

Hi,
Well, perhaps like you suggest it counts as "advertising my services"............
It's not just advertising your services but the fact that any advice given in private e-mails would not be seen like advice posted on the forum. Open forums are just that, where others can read and if necessary question or challenge any advice given. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
