PGCE/Cert. Ed.

No Strictly a money saving issue...but hopefully the forum will come up trumps as it always does.
Does anyone know what academic level a PGCE/Cert Ed is classed as, is it level 4, level 5 or level 6 or even higher. I wouldnt have thought it would be level 4, and not level 6 as it doesn't have a dissertation in it, but then for the PGCE qualification you need to have a degree first off. But then a cert ed. is the same as a PGCE just that you don't have a degree first off.
Just wondering as someone i know has a cert ed. and for a job she needs to have a level 5 qualification and she wants to know if her cert. ed. could be classed as a level 5 qualification.
Regards.
Michael.

on second thoughts it is a money saving issue...as if her cert ed can be regarded as a level 5 qualification then she can do this job i.e. increased salary without having to spend any more money doing a level 5 qualification.
At then end of the day i suppose it all boils down to money.

I think a PGCE or a cert ed is a level 4 and an MA is a level 5.........in any case, I just googled the info and found this site.
