What happens if someone becomes so mentally ill that they are not considered fit by a GP/Solicitor to know what they are doing in signing a consent for POA and are not capable of running their own financial affairs?
It's an old question I know but doesn't look to have been answered.
In this case application is made to the Court of Protection to appoint a Deputy to run the person's affairs. It's a long and complicated process. Making an LPoA whilst still capable is by far preferable.0
