does car insurance count as a "purchase"

Hey, I'm looking at applying for a 0% interest credit card for 10 months and wondered if purchasing car insurance counts as a "purchase" or would it be considered a cash advance. In other words will I be charged interest if I pay my car insurance with it?
Any help would be much appreciated,
Cheers

I do this every year - get a new 0% card and buy my car insurance - it is a purchase so no interest to pay

Yes, it does, so I get 1% cashback on doing it via Egg Money (other cashback cards may be even better), plus whatever cashback from either the policy or Quidco - or both.
But beware - insurance companies usually institute automatic renewals, and whilst it's easy to cancel a direct debit from your current account (having cancelled via the insurance company), you cannot do this via a credit card - so you have to trust that the Company HAS cancelled the dd.
