I'm also with Sainsburys. Going to open an account with Tesco but keep the Sainsburys one open with £1 just in case anything happens with their interest rate. Knowing my luck Tesco with drop their rates soon0

Ours has gone into principality e saver but I am not holding my breath re the rates remaining competative. We both opened clydesdale fixed rate accounts at the weekend and my cheque has gone off. I`m just waiting for some more money to drop into our current account before his goes off
I have a fixed rate icesave bond which matures on 18th nov. I weighed up 6 weeks of lost interest v an unknown timescale. I`ll keep posting re progress0 -

Following the additional base rate cut of 1% (from 3% to 2%), Sainsburys have dropped their Interest rate by...
...wait for it ...
.... 1.25% !!!!!
So it's now just 2.25% (Gross)
I think there might be an even quicker outward movement of cash from Sainsburys now.0 -

thanks for that, i think that last £44 i left there is definatly being moved out now, just leave the £1 to keep it open
it will be interesting to see if they up the interest rate as quick as they are dropping it following base rate changes when the rate eventually goes up again, doubt they will do thoughMFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
