I am new to ebay and need some advice please. :-[
An item I have auctioned has been paid for by Paypal, however the buyers paypal postal address is unconfirmed and on Paypal it states 'Seller Protection Policy - Ineligible'.
Should I be concerned and do I need to do anything or ask the buyer for anything else (telephone confirmation?) before shipping the goods out?
Thanks in advance for your help.

You'll find many UK addresses are unconfirmed, I usually don't worry and just send the stuff straight out.
However, don't forget to protect yourself by making sure that anything expensive gets sent either by recorded delivery or special delivery, as proof of delivery (NOT proof of postage) means that a buyer can't claim their money back.

Yup Soolin is right - it is fine to send it off. The "unconfirmed" bit is often like that with UK buyers, nothing to worry about. The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0

In the USA they have a different credit card verification process that allows PayPal to confirm addresses. Unfortunately in sear old blighty it doesn't work.
So we unfortunately have deal with unconfirmed addresses.
As others have said:-
Recorded delivery if items are around or below £28.
Otherwise Special Delivery. I email buyer the tracking number now. Stops them getting any silly ideas about claiming non arrival.0 -

It actualy depends on your credit card and how you set up your postal address in ebay. Even if your paypal address is confirmed you need to attach it to your ebay account and then allocate it as the primary postal address in ebay.
Completely agree about sending recorded / special delivery. Factor it into the P&P and don't give the buyer an option.
With special delivery, given the post offices usual delivery service, about 50% of the time I am able to claim a refund under their failure to deliver before 1pm guarantee. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thanks to you all for the good advice, I will send the item out now ;D
I will definately use registered deliveries for lower cost items and special delivery for goods over £28.00
How do you know what time your item is delivered, does the time show on the Royal Mail online tracking? I am now thinking that getting a refund about 50% of the time sounds like VERY good moneysaving!

even if you dont send via recorded or special delivery if you have proof of posting you can claim up to £28 by royalmail. Because I sell small items and stock a few I send the first with proof of posting and if it does not arrive follow the second via recorded delivery to satisfy paypals requirement for tracking. Obviously if you sell one offs you can't do that ;D0
