Kaupthing Edge not processing new Chaps requests

Yesterday I processed a chaps request on the Kaupthing Edge site. Today the money had not reached the account. I called and was told that they were unable to process chaps payments at the moment (money will be sent via BACS instead) and that this is mentioned on their website.
Has anyone else seen anything?
I have been all over their website and can't find anything. The withdrawal page says '- A CHAPS withdrawal is usually credited to your linked account on the same business day. A fee of £20 will be debited to your account for a CHAPS withdrawal' . Other areas talk about the problems with transactions at the height of the crisis but do not mention they are not processing new transactions. Whilst they will refund the £20, I needed the money straight away (otherwise why would I pay the fee....).

Even BACS transactions appear to be not working as they should.
I initiated a BACS transfer on Sunday 9th, for just over £500, to clear out my instant access account.
The money didn't appear in my linked account on Wednesday, as expected, but turned up late on Thursday as a CHAPS transfer. No fee charged of course.
So it appears to me that they have a general problem processing any withdrawal requests.

I asked for a CHAPS payment last Monday...£20k + £20. The CHAPS fee was refunded immediately. Seven days later the money is still not in my linked account. "we are looking into it" is all I can get out of them. Getting a wee bit worried about there ability to manage former Kaupthing Edge accounts. Or is there more!0

By the way....the funds were removed from my Kaupthing/ING account immediately.0

There is room for confusion here:
All the time there was huge problems with the KE bit I had no problems with my existing ING account.
It may not be realised but KE & Ing have been working on 2 different platforms - to my knowlege ING system has been working fine throughout the KE takeon, and CHAPS payments has never been an option from ING.
However, the KE (ING) platform DID offer chaps at a cost but it didn't work properly.
So I have seen people posting under the heading 'ING' but it is obvious to me they are generally talking about the KE platform problems.0 -

It has been reported on the main KE thread that CHAPS transfers are not to be relied upon due to them having problems with it. There's also THIS on the KE website. It appears under their latest update of the 17 November (I know you requested your CHAPS transfer on 16 November, but I think it's been mentioned on their update page before). Nevertheless, you'd expect them to make an obvious statement on the transfer funds option page once logged on, or take away the CHAPS option if they can't offer the service.0 -
Sorry dont want to high jack a thread but dont want to create another. I want to close my Kaupthing account.
Do i do it by phone or can i request by email?
Also is AA the best savings to put it into at the moment??

They request that you contact Customer Services. I rang them when I closed mine, but someone mentioned that they did it via the secure message system. Don't do it by CHAPS though, as they're having problems with it.0 -
Last week I sent an email via the secure system asking how could I close my account. I am glad that I actually wanted to as they quickly closed my account and transferred the balance to my nominated account. No fuss and very quickly. As I have a hearing problem I was very pleased that I did not have to phone them to close.0

Just had a KE BACs through (18th) that I initiated on the 12th.0
