Does anybody know if it is standard practice for a credit card company to refuse to cancel a credit card account by cheque if the account holder is due money back from the credit card company? (due to overpayment to them or refunds back to the card)
Only the wonderful Barclaycard cutomer service people in Delhi say they can only return money to me via my bank account and ask for my sort code and account number over the phone.
I was under the impression that most companies can settle up and send a cheque out to you but I'm obviously mistaken!?
