I've got an amazon card which I got because of this site as £15 worth of vouchers were available once it had been used the first time.

I always pay my credit cards off in full every month and use mainly a Tesco credit card as I get club card points for doing so.

This month, due to Xmas and problems with my tax credits, funds are a bit low. So, I had a thought and remembered that my Amazon card is 0% for purchases and balance transfers until March. I've paid off my tesco credit card in full from my bank account. But I've also spent a bit on a Mint credit credit card of around £120. I've phoned Amazon (Halifax) and asked them to do a balance transfer to pay off the Mint card.

Am I right in thinking that I now sit back and do nothing until March when I need to pay off the Amazon card? I could also put future purchases on the Amazon card and pay nothing until March? Or do I need to make minimum payments?

  • I would have thought that you would still have to make monthly payments to Amazon but if you don't pay the balance off oin full then you won't be charged interest...until March of course!

agree with mountainofdebt - plus, if you haven't already done so, check whether you got charged a balance transfer fee. It's probably max £2.40 (2%).

Just checked this and you're right. 2% fee. I just knew I would have to get charged something from someone!
