Opening A&L Savings account - Credit Check?

I have just opened a A&L savings account.

Would A&L have done a search with a CRA? I assume not as I will not be borrowing from them.

Thanks in advance.

My Experian credit report shows a search done by Alliance & Leicester as a "Identification Money Laundering Prevention" as well as one for the Current Account.

So they may well have done a search to verify you exist, but Experian's notes say "Unrecorded Enquiries, quotations, identify verification checks and credit report applications are shown for you on your copy of your report but are not seen by lenders".

There should not be any effect on your credit record of any consequence.
