NoRugbymum - I would buy a bag of value pasta, some potatoes, some value tins of tomatoes, lentils, onions, carrots, mince, eggs and then flour, yeast and oil to make bread. That should make lentil soup, bread , a pasta dish with a tomato sauce, eggs and chips (or many other variations!) and then something like mince bolognaise or shepherds pie.

Yes
Thanks BB but I have most of those in my cupboard already. I got cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, spuds & mince. I was also VERY naughty and got a pud & doritos for the kids. Got homemade bread out of the freezer as well as 2 chicken fillets & pittas.Burlesque_Babe wrote: »Rugbymum - I would buy a bag of value pasta, some potatoes, some value tins of tomatoes, lentils, onions, carrots, mince, eggs and then flour, yeast and oil to make bread. I prefer Lidl tinned toms. More to the can. I may be a bit of a pasta snob but value pasta is yucky. Lidl is slightly cheaper than normal own brand but so much nicer.
It really was a toss up between the cheese & salad stuff.LBM:FEB 2008

NoHave to say, I don't buy the Value pasta, it always tastes a bit 'chewy' even when cooked, although I would if I was really skint.

YesMalted milk biscuits, dunked in Horlicks.
Custard creams, yes, but you have to take one side off and scrape the creamy bit off, then eat the biscuit.
