YesBuffy,
I often feel like you and it takes just small changes regularly to make a difference...
hypno is a good one to speak to sweets-she's brilliant.
I would look into NLP if that's an option...You have to find it in yourself babe. Being 'thin/rich/funny/blonde/brunette' etc etc will not make you suddenly happy-you need to find it now within yourself and the other things will follow. I love my Paul McKenna CD's if you want to borrow any of those?Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -

I have questions for you all.
I have been thinking for a couple of months that I am generally unhappy with bits of my life. and wondering how I could change it.
So today when I was out shopping and an old guy smoking walked past me - over took me I came to the conclusion that that was a sign of how unfit I am
But I wondered is it actually possible to change from a slob (me now) to a super fit bird or at least a vaguely fit not over taken by old blokes on the street type bird? Have any of you done it? and if so what motivated/motivates you?
xx
Buffy this is my story. I have always had weight problems, overweight for pretty much all of my life, yo yo dieter and generally quite lazy!
Out of the blue 4 years ago my dad collapsed and had a heart attack and died at the age of 58. When I had DD I promised myself that I needed to sort my eating/fitness out as I did NOT want to put her through loosing a parent so young, and also wanted to set her an example to be active. My sister who's story is basically the same as mine (see a theme amerging here!) ran the London Marathon last year and she was a true inspiration to me.
I started running last April and couldn't even get to the end of the street but pushed myself! Here I am 8 months later with a place myself in the LM and able to run a half marathon (just!)
Personally I think we all have something that motivates us and today may just be that thing for youI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

hi Buffy......
i certainly enjoy exercise and am fit (for a fat bird!) but it hasn't really made me lose much weight up until now, although it is heading slowly in the right direction.
You need to find something you enjoy doing, whether it's revisiting the volley ball/hockey team from school, running or maybe swimming...
i took some swimming lessons and this has improved my technique enough for me to feel able to swim before work and not feel out of place with the lane swimmers in the morning... running clubs are good if you find a group with beginners and start from there......I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
