I make a point of hanging on to any M&S clothes when I'm sorting out the recycling. Then I have some availible to take in at the start of November or January (to get the Dec or Jan vouchers to use in the sale) or also in August (to get vouchers to set against school uniform.) I don't just take in these clothes of course but make sure they get a decent donation with a few M&S items, and I usually get a couple of vouchers for each of these key periods. They are "£5 off when you spend £35" after all so I'm not going to be spending much more than that.

I don't think they'd be any good for gift cards, Georgiarose1. The ones you have will expire the end of November and they will be "£5 off £35", not a £5 gift token. The shops aren't usually allowed to hand them out for anything else than the current month. Might be worth checking.

  • I'm a volunteer for Oxfam and we've had this promotion running since February. If you hand in one M&S clothing item you recieve a £5 off (£35 spend) voucher.

Make sure you specify you've got M&S clothing and have it to hand to show the assistant (we need to see the label) We keep our vouchers in the till so you'd be better off donating items to the till staff, not the back room staff.

Also, it's one voucher per visit NOT per item.

This is a great scheme I think and the customers seem to love it too :)

    Hi all,

I've done this a couple of times - I took a large carrier bag (a bit bigger than a Tesco one) full of clothes, with the Marks & Spencer item/s on the top, with the label showing.
When I went in the shop I showed the assistant the M&S label and asked if the offer was still on, and she ripped out a voucher from a booklet.
Be warned though, that you have to spend the £5 voucher (when you spend £35!) before the end of that month, so it's worth going in early in the month and then you have more time to think about how you want to spend it.

Thanks for donating your M&S stuff to Oxfam :) Also, I'd like to note if we've got the next months vouchers in (usually last week of the month) we can give you the voucher for the following month instead, if you'll not be using it that week. (Well, I do anyway!)

    :)

I think it's a great scheme too, and I do love it. I can't think of anyone that loses out, with the possible exception of other charity shops losing donations to Oxfam shops. I'm not greedy about it and do only go in for a couple of vouchers twice per year and I do think Oxfam do pretty well out of my donations (usually 2-3 Ikea bags of outgrown toys and decent quality clothes), so good for M&S/Oxfam for dreaming it up.

90 days now, it will tell you on your receipt the last day you can return as I have one that needs to be returned by tomorrow for a full refund.

Then I need to fill up a bag of M&S bits and pieces for Oxfam!
  • hey, well i guess i had a different offer, i got my voucher which did have to be used when spent over a certain amount, but went automatically against my cards, huh dunno, maybe some branchs of the two shops vary....
