:beer: hi guys I use avast antivirus and happy with it,, got a message to day saying new version avalaible to download,, do u advise it or will i just leave as is

Yes, just downloaded and installed it (4.8.1282, if that's what you mean), and it went with no problems at all, so it seems to be ok.0

However due to circumstances slightly out of my control, Windows updated and then rebooted coinciding with the Avast reboot. IYSWIM.
I don't know if it's a coincidence but on reboot my Online Armor firewall corrupted and couldn't start.
A re-install and all seems O.K.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Yup, mine updated to 4.8.1282 and is still running fine...found it to be a pretty good product.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

They do this periodically. I have been running avast for years. Everyday you should get the little blue pop up with the protections updated, but then every few weeks.months a green will pop up. I've click this everytime and all been good. As some said above, its more just improvements than a whole new version.
