Best Buy '£399' Laptop Review Thread

I'm looking for one and thought we could have a round-up of what eveyone has found in the low-price laptop market:

I've seen an NEC one at Staples for £399 The spec on that one appeared to be the best in the £399 field. Built in WiFi. Anyone got any comments on this one?

Should I instead go for a £340-£399 Dell? New offers probably starting tomorrow...

Anyone bought the awful-specced PCWorld £299 lappy? Any comments from actual buyers?

Without wanting to be rude, could I suggest you look at the 470-post sticky thread "The Great 'Cheapest Decent Laptop' Hunt" at the top of this forum? And additionally, about every fortnight, there's Yet Another thread which asks "Which cheap laptop should I buy?"...
