A new bike - was it a good deal?

Hi
Just bought a new but slightly scratched Marin Kentfield man's cycle for £289, normally £340. Bike was reduced because it has a slight scratch on the cross bar and a new model is out for £440 (same spec!)
After the test ride, said I was interested but wanted a reduction due to the scratch - young assistant said it was already discounted but could give a further 5% off. I said I will buy now but only if the £30 lights are thrown in for free. She said ok, reducing the price to £260.
Will live with a one inch cross bar scratch and quite pleased with the deal - could I have squeezed them for more?
