Setting up regular payments to a CC

I need to set up a regular payment from my LloydsTSB account to my nice new Halifax One card, to make the minimum payments every month. However, the standing order form on the LTSB site only allows me to enter account details (sort code and account number), not a credit card number. I know this must be really simple, but can anyone tell me how to do this, or do I have to visit the branch?

Go to bill transfers & payments- click new recipient to list - select pay bill -name of company will come up search under Halifax - comes up Halifax card services (or look under visa or mastercard depending on what your card is) and put in your 16 digit card number as reference - then add to my list.
I personally would send a small amount as say a pound straight away 1, to check that everything is set up properly 2, to check how long it takes to go from one bank to another.
One last thing bill payments are not automatic you have tell LTSB to send a payment each and every time you want this to happen.
You could also arrange with Halifax for them to set up a direct debit to collect minumum payment each month.
If you want to set up a standing order (same amount same day each month) select pay another person.
Sort code and account number (you have to enter this even if it is a load of zeros) you will get from back of your statement - reference will be your 16 digit card number0 -
Got the same problem again, this time setting up a SO from Alliance & Leicester to my LTSB Classic Reserve card. The online form on A&L insists that I have to enter the sort code and account number, but all LTSB gives me is the 16-digit card number. How do I do this??£2 coin savers club: £1.49

As mentioned earlier, make a test payment before making one 'in anger'.
Having said all that, a minimum payment DD would take away all this hassle for you. Is there any reason why you won't set one up?0 -
If you want to only make the min payment every month the amount will be different every month as it reduces. A standing order would be paying the same amount. Direct Debit far less hassle You can print a mandate off the Lloyds website.debt free...yippee :dance:0

I sort of prefer to have standing orders as it enables me to make quick and easy alterations to payments. Perhaps I should consider DDs in this case though...£2 coin savers club: £1.49

Know how you feel, I like to be in control too, but if you instruct them to take the minimum payment by DD the onus is on them then to get it to your account on time, hence, no charges for late payment. It can still be cancelled easily enough at the end of the introductory offer.debt free...yippee :dance:0
