Bradford & Bingley ISA down to 3%

Anyone noticed the Bradford & Bingley Good for life ISA is now paying 3%
Crikey, I can get more than that in an ordinary account even after tax.

Only got just over £9000.00 which I put in years ago. Been putting the ISA allowance elswhere for some years.

Here I go again, got to move that now.

And I thought NS&I paying 3.30% was bad.

Unbelieveable.......who would put money into a building society, a shaky one at that, when NSandI is offering more?

  • So much for being "good" for life.
  • Fair's fair - I have a lot of criticism of B&B but in terms of the interest rate on this account it does exactly what it says on the tin.

The rate promises to match the base rate for "life", although I might be slightly more cynical if they were looking to withdraw the account if the bank base rate had sky-rocketed.

The rate on this account is doing exactly what the T's & C's said it would do - which should not be a surprise to anyone!

Yes, I know you're right. I've just been lazy in leaving it there for years, as it was a small amount. Should have moved it long ago.

    BUT...others banks/bs' haven't dropped theirs so much.

So move it - banks etc still need money coming in to roll over mortgages. The more we move our dosh to the highest payers, the sooner thaey'll stop taking the pi$$. Never really bothered much before for less than 0.75%, but the times they are a changing....

Have just printed off the form for the Nothern Rock Fixed Rate ISA.
Will pop it in the branch tomorrow along with the Transfer Authority Form.
