yep, 2 goes at getting 0% balance transfers - BUT, during the period you can get these 0% balance transfers, there is this catch:-

All we ask is a 2% handling fee for each balance transfer and cheque transaction debited to the account on or before 1 November 2006, or during January 2007.(Minimum charge £5, maximum £49.)

If I already have a RBS card - can I get a Mint one aswell? (since mint is a RBS card too)?

    Thanks

  • Hey DJ1UK,

Nice! Applied just now and was accepted straight away. Anyone know if Mint tend to be generous or otherwise with credit limits? I have to wait to get the card to find out.

This is on the website: Please note: Balance Transfers from other MINT and other Royal Bank of Scotland Group Card accounts are not permitted. Existing cardholders are not eligible for these offers
  • Anyone know how soon after closing a Mint card account one can re-apply and qualify for 'new customer' offers?

Just gone to check on my Mint card status and noticed they've got a promotion on front page.

Be clever, restore the clever-dumb balance with a MINT card. You get 0% on purchases & balance transfers until November 2006. And then, as a thank you for being with us, you’ll get a further 0% until 1 July 2007 on new balance transfers debited to your account in January 2007.*
Impress people with your MINT card. It's got all the usual features of a more familiar credit card, plus a load more - just because that's how we do things.

How does this sound? 0% until 1 November 2006 on purchases, balance transfers AND cheque transactions. After this,we'll give you a rate of just 14.1% p.a. (variable). Then as a thank you for just being with us, you'll get a further 0% until 1st July 2007 on balance transfers & cheques transactions debited to your account during January 2007. All we ask is a 2% handling fee for each balance transfer and cheque transaction debited to the account on or before 1 November 2006, or during January 2007.(Minimum charge £5, maximum £49.)

0% on balance transfers fixed until 1 November 2006
0% on purchases fixed until 1 November 2006
A very attractive typical 14.9% APR (variable)

Sounds a decent deal to me. ;)

May be worth giving them a call to see what they can do for an existing customer.
