Lost Connection on dialup ?

My son uses his BT phone line to use internet.(not broadband) He can connect for a couple of minutes but then receives messages saying that programmes cannot be found.When he picks up his phone the internet connection is still blocking the phone and has to be closed.BT have checked line and say it is ok.
Compuer has been checked and is ok.
Any clue to what may be wrong as he does not know what to do next!!!!

Open Internet Explorer, Tools,Internet Options,Connections, How many connections are there, delete/remove any that shouldnt be there..

Mmm have you called ID blocked at all.

So if someone does 1471 they cant get your number.

Message on screen says connection was resetwhilst the page was reloading site unavailable try later. Mozilla Firefox system used.1471 does obtain number.

yes you can obtain number. Yes would not go through as too short!

Mmm how long has this been a problem.. have you a extension over 5mtrs
have you installed any software lately, have you checked the dial up connections
