Making cards - Ideas for a card craft beginner (part 2)

Not that I wish to tempt anyone or anything but does anyone fancy ordering something from sirstampalot or stampeezee and splitting the p&p?
If we both (or all) buy light things then it would be worth it.
I only want 1 stamp!!"Finish each day And be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and Absurdities have crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can."

A couple of weeks ago someone wanted the cobweb poem and couldn't find it. Sorry can't remember who it was but I think this was the one you wanted. Babies Don't Keep
I hope my children will look back on today
And see a mother who had time to play.
There will be years for cleaning and cooking
But children grow up while we're not looking.
Dusting and scrubbing can wait 'till tomorrow
For babies grow fast we learn to our sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Hi I am a bit of a lurker on this thread and a few other crafty ones. I dont post many pics as I dont think there anywhere as good as all of yours. Im so impressed with all of the cards you make so welldone.
I have a few questions I just wondered if anyone can help. I was wanting to buy a Gorjuss girl stamp and maybe some greetings farms ones (I quite like Hope and Grace) first of all when you buy unmounted stamps do you have to put them onto a block or can you just use them as they are? Ive only really bought ready mounted stamps. Can I also ask about the glue you use to stick papers etc to the actual card? Ive used double sided tape and a roller, are these the best things to use or am I missing something?
Im trying to be a bit more adventurous and will hopefully have the confidence to post a pic here. tia:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

Kim Could you please tell me where you got the image for the cake stand from, is it a stamp or a download. Thank-you x0 -
Hi Nic
If you buy unmounted stamps you will need to by an Acrylic block to stick them to, and the best thing for sticking backing papers on is double sided tape. The sticky dots and the rollers are usually expensive but great for circles and apertures.0 -
nic075 - Welcome to the thread!! It is easier if you use an acrylic block to stick your stamps to, but if you don't have one they stick to a cd case. Where were you thinking of getting your gorjuss stamps from - I love them too but they seem really hard to find?? I also love the greetings farm ones and bought myself a few a couple of weeks ago. I use double sided tape to stick my paper down - I hope you're going to post some pics soon!0

I've woken up with a stinking cold this morning, and am going to go back over the thread to try and find flourgirls cards using the masculine papers, so I can 'borrow' her ideas - I may be gone some time :rotfl:0 -
Thanks Melissa for the cd case tip. I was going to order from here http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=47_55
I think in my previous post I got confused by Greetings farm (Hope and Grace) and the Gorjuss girls. I had been looking at both. but it was the Gorjuss girls Sent with Love or Just a girl I meant. I couldnt decide what id use most.nic075 - Welcome to the thread!! It is easier if you use an acrylic block to stick your stamps to, but if you don't have one they stick to a cd case. Nic - that's the only place that I'd seen the gorjuss girls in stock. I ordered my greetings farm ones from nutcrafters.co.uk, their postage was quite reasonable. Silly monkey crafts also sell them and they have 10% off everything this weekend, I think its free delivery there if you spend over 25 quid.0
