Flights to Orlando (or Florida) April/May 2006

Hi,

My folks are interested in flying out to Florida at the end of April ( around the 28th) returning towards the end of May( around the 20th).

Initially they were set on flying from Manchester, however they are open to options, especially from London airports.

Has anyone any experience in cheap trans atlantic flights, either schedule or charter to Florida. Any web addresses would be appreciated.

Thanks

One to try is https://www.thomsonfly.com, they have charters to Sanford (Orlando) from Manchester, and other UK airports. Not sure what months they fly.

Usualy the mega cheap ones are for 14 nights and often booked last minute
We have paid as low as £99 for 2 weeks with Airtours, Not the best flight in the world.
What sort of prices have they already had?

£358 return Manchester - LGW - MCO (Orlando internation) at the beginning of May, thats with BA so you will get 2 x32kg of luggage each as opposed to about 20Kg each on a charter
  • Thomson have some good deals on at the mo. We looked for flights from Manchester around the 20th jan 06 and this is available till sometime im march. £745 for 2 Adults & 3 children. I thought that was good for a family of 5. :)

That appears to be great value - have a great time - nice time to go as well as it will not be too hot for th kids to get irritable

We were very unlucky with the weather in Jan. Went for Superbowl 25 and planned on going to Seaworld but they had to close it because it was too cold for the dolphines and whales.
We didnt take any warm clothes with us at all and had to go and buy loads of stuff and had the heating on in the room instead of air con brrrrrr but we still had a great time and it was unusaly cold so we were told

A lot of people think the weather in mid-Florida is warm all year.

As you say last January(and the one before) was pretty cold. The average max temp in Jan should be approx 70F but it is often much colder and a slight frost at night can occur.

Convinced them to widen the search & by playing around with the dates managed to get a sub £600 (£596) from Gatwick. Saved them £125 on their best quote from Manchester. As for additional expenses, I'll take them to Gatwick as it isn't far from me.
    They are well pleased.
