Calm down!!! I'm more than aware of what meetings, etc.. Governors have to attend (one of my friends is a Governor at her DD's school). And that it's voluntary. All I said was that I "assumed" it was part of the (voluntary) job to have their contact details available so that parents could contact them if needs be (although again, I would assume that would be quite rare) - an assumption made because of my experience of my DD's school having the contact details available. I don't know (or didn't until I read this thread) that it wasn't standard practice in all schools. I don't go around checking what other schools do compaired to DD's school you know.
Jxx
Bit patronising telling me to calm down.
All I stated was I didn't understand why you would think a voluntary role would give many other people 'access all areas' to that person.
I do not wish to take this thread off topic, so for the OP's sake, shall bow out.0 -

Which I think I explained, and I saw no need to be jumped on just for stating how they do things in DD's school. Which is not off topic I believe. I didn't realise it was different elsewhere. I do now. I saw no need for anyone to get @rsey with me about it.
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
I would hit the roof if someone gave out my personal details to the other mums at the school.
Only the people I choose to have that info get it!
I work in HR and know the implications giving out details, however small it may seem, can have.

At my DDs school parents are all given a form to fill in at the beginning of the year. It has all the info mentioned by other posters. You can fill in as much as you wish. I chose not to fill it in but others have. It is made clear that if you return the form then the details will be given to all parents of children in the same class. I would put together a form and ask the teacher to distribute it.0
