Worth holding back in my view because there have been mixed reviews of this model and its likely to be updated sooner rather than later. Most ipods have a lifecycle of 6-12mths before replacement.

personally i'd hold back on waiting on the one your recommending holding back on.

wait a couple of years and see how the market pans out. :wall:

on a more serious note the video ipod is a great mp3 player that can play some nice movie clips - even by apples own admission.

anyone who is knocking it in reviews is complaining of its video capabilities which isn;'t its purpose in life.

if you really really want one you might have to bite the bullet on a near retail price...

I'm thinking of buying one... so just out of interest, where's that stat from?

Latest issue of T3 magazine. (or if not T3 its in stuff). They've shown all the ipods and how long they lastest before replacement.
I was about to buy one, but in the back of my mind I was thinking, they're bound to get better soon, as Nano is too small capacity wise and Video is in a very competitive market and isn't the outright leader. Then coincidently I saw this article in T3

it is the outright leader in the mp3 market. it just happens to have a colour screen and plays the odd short movie clip. its purpose in life is to play mp3s and now it does so in a colourful way.

if you want an mp3 player then buy the ipod, if you want a video player then get an archos AV. They are two completely different markets with different market leaders.

I would buy one now if you want one now. you could wait a year for apple to get their next gen unit out there....

Hi, we got a 30gb ipod from Boots online just before Christmas, using the £15 off code from the Vouchers section here, and £8.76 worth of advantage card points, therefore costing £193.24........

The black ones are in stock at boots.com and get a discount code or extra points on hotukdeals voucher page.
  • The 30gb is out of stock on the HMV website and the 12% codes expires tomorrow :(

oh well thanks for pointing it out anyway :)

If you use pigsback.com , you can get 10% off at dabs or John Lewis if you prefer. Dabs is £193.5 with the 10% difference from £215 being refunded in leisure vouchers
