Options
Hi,

I've been looking for a 30gb Video ipod in the sales but I've not had much luck.

Has anyone seen any on their travels ?

I'd like to be proven wrong, but i'm not liking your chances of getting such a new product for a knock down price so soon after launch.....

they can sell them for full price for a good few months yet.....

Apple have another one of there events next month where they launch new products. Although I can't see them replacing the video so soon. If they do though the prices should come down on the video.

Apple has a strangle hold on prices for their items. You do not see much variance between their prices (website, stores etc) and the high street or web.

plus i don't think there is massive markup on electrical items like this - thus there isn;'t much scope to discount.

for example, sony lose money on every PSP they sell - making their money instead on the games - which makes it nigh on impossible to get a decent discount.

Cheapest seems to be ebuyer.com at £211 for the 30Gb video ipod ( only an £8 saving).
They won't be discounted in the instore sales, because almost all the shops sold out prior to christmas. There are very few of any popular MP3 player left in the big electrical chains ( all the popular ones are out of stock).

Just took a 60Gb ipod video back for a refund ( and the staff at currys remarked they ought to announce over the tannoy that they have one back in stock - they have that big a demand for them) . I wasn't going to use it enough to justify the £300 cost though..

Worth holding back in my view because there have been mixed reviews of this model and its likely to be updated sooner rather than later. Most ipods have a lifecycle of 6-12mths before replacement.

join quidco for 5% cashback and use the 12% off code on the vouchers forum (marked as xbox 360 bargain)
hmv £219.99 use code and get it for £193.59 with free postage
and get 5% (9.68) back with quidco
code ends soon so be quick
I just used the code to get £40 off an xbox 360

    60gb for 263.99 delivered + £13.20 quidco cashback = £250.79

NB I have had a refurbished ipod for 18 months and have had no problems
  • I've just treated myself to a black 60Gb one just before Christmas. There's a £23 discount code for the Apple store around (for purchases over a certain figure), this brings the larger one down to about £277. Apple also email you vouchers from time to time if you receive their newsletter.

Hi, we got a 30gb ipod from Boots online just before Christmas, using the £15 off code from the Vouchers section here, and £8.76 worth of advantage card points, therefore costing £193.24........
