SamsungYPK£ Mp3 player Problem

Hi folks
Samsung YPK3 it should read at the top
I have 3 of these MP3 players, one for me and one for each for my daughters, I have found it to be really good, very light, easy to use and funky looking. Recently when I have plugged it into the PC is it no longer recognised which means I can no longer change my music files on the player.
I have tried it with 3 different players and with 3 different PC's, the Samsung software has beeen reloaded, both original and the latest version from Samsung.
Something seems to have changed in one of the Win XP updates that has made it not to be recognised. I have even done a complete new installation of windows XP and it has not sorted it out.
When the player is plugged in to the USB port it is seen by win XP and recognises the model name but never completes the installation of the new hardware, just reoports back there was a problem and it may not work properly.
I am really irritated by this, the players are less than 12 months old and are now useless as MP3 players they were not cheapo crappy things either!
Searching the net it seems we are not the only people experiencing this but I have so far been unable to find a resolution to it anyone have any ideas or come across a solution?.
