First Direct Current Account - £100 payment

Hi,

I am seeking the advice of the knowledgeable folks here.

Essentially I opened a Current Account with First Direct in January 2008
as recommended here ... No interest, however £100 paid if you pay in over £1500
a month, and a further £100 if you wish to close the account.

I can be totally honest ... it was a blatant attempt on my part to blag £100 .. but why not ?

I went through this with their customer help desk at the time, ... I dutifully paid in £1525 a month (and took it out again) for 4 months in a row ... and then stopped
To date no £100.

I called them again .. They say I met the criteria.

Then again .. It was supposed to be Salary paid by BACS ... Nowhere does it say this, then I must speak to their marketing team.

How do I go about claiming my £100 ... and I think I have grounds for closing the account for poor service .. and claiming another £100 ?.

First contact the FSA via the helpline on their website and they will tell you what to do and where to address letters but it should be along the lines of below;

Send a letter of complaint to their complaints dept. Staying they are in breach of their contract and if the matter is not resolved then you will be seeking further action via the Financial Services Authority and putting a letter of complaint in with the Advertising Standards Authority.

If you have not already, make sure you have all the paperwork about the offer to hand and keep it safe.
