Would like to volunteer over Christmas with homeless in Manchester where to apply?

My DD (17 years) and myself (beep beep years:D ) would like to give up some time over the Christmas period helping make someone elses Christmas special. As DD is off to Uni next year I fear I might be to selfish to share her next Christmas:o and therefore feel that it is a fitting way to make this Christmas very special.

If anyone could point us in the right direction I would very much appreciate your help.

Thanking you in advance:D

do apply ASAP, there is likely to be a process, which may well including providing references and a CRB check, plus training. It all takes time!

the best people to contact i would have thought would be the following

    http://www.vamanchester.org.uk/

    Voluntary Action Manchester

I understand the concepts of cooking and cleaning
........ I Just dont understand how they apply to me!
  • Voluntary Action Manchester is an organisation that supports voluntary and community organisations in the City of Manchester (to get funding, do business planning etc). They don't work with volunteers and are not able to place them.

There is no volunteer bureau in Manchester. I'd suggest visiting www.do-it.org.uk for volunteering opportunities.
