  • Do you intend keeping your VCR or are you replacing it with the DVD recorder. How many Scart sockets do your new DVD, TV, and Freeview box have?

Well Im still scratching my head here!!!!!!
Right I have one of those multi scart sockets attached to my tv (allows 3 scart plugs to be inserted) The way I have it now is ariel into my freeview box, the out lead from my freeview to my tv. Scart socket into my tv, then scart from socket into the freeview box, 2nd scart from freeview box to the dvd recorder. I can get them both to work independantly but not all together. I thought about putting a scart from the dvd to the tv but would I still be able to record from the freeview box................sorry If I sound a bit on the dumb side, my ex used to do all this techie stuff I just used the remotes!!!!:confused::confused:

Yes, if the Freeview is connected to the video by scart. There will probably be an "AV" button on the DVD remote. You will only be able to record the channel you are watching though (not physically watching, but the Freeviewbox will only output one channel at a time so you couldn't record E4 while watching Sky News if you see what I mean (but you could record E4 while watching BBC1)). :)
