Eon have been reading my meter as a 4 digit meter when it's actually a 5 digit meter.

I don't know how this has happened or why they have now discovered it. I've confirmed my meter point reference number and reading and now I'm concerned I'm going to receive a massive bill.

They've read my meter regularly and I've also faithfully provided meter readings and paid my bills in good faith.

If I get a massive bill, will I be obliged to pay it, even though it's their mistake for having inaccurate details and not spotting it sooner?

Why do you think you'll get a large bill? 07999 is the same as 7999. What has your readings been over the last few years that make you think you'll get a large bill?

What difference does it make?

Whether they think the meter reads 5986 or 05986, the cost will be the same.

What am I missing? 5786 to 5986 or 57862 to 59865 does make a difference. I'm confused, Spiro and Premier, why you should think there is no problem?

But DonnaLeeAdam, are you sure the fifth figure is the same size and/or colour as the left hand four? If not, there is not a problem.

    7862 to 9865 is the same as 57862 to 59865 ;)

  • Yer but shes been getting billed as if she had a 4 dial meter.. but she has a 5 dial meter.. Im guessing??? But surely that would mean your due a refund?? Because all your readings would have been multiplied by 2.83, so you would have been paying nearly 3 times too much??
