Bt Broadband retention offer £7.49

To all who have BT Broadband and have no contract left or in last 2 months.

Regrade and you can have BT Broadband option 1 for £7.49 a month if you take a new 12 month contract.

You have to be in an LLU area so check sam knows to see if you can have it.

  • so why did the customer service guy i called not offer me diddly squat when i asked for a MAC code? Didnt seem to want to retain my custom at all by offering me a deal.
  • ?? bad advisor ? how did you approach ? did you demand mac or did you say you are interested in staying with bt on a new deal?

Umm ... we just managed to get 6 months free broadband and the new black home hub from them. We're on the Option 3 broadband.
  • i had already got a deal with them a few days earlier but the paperwork came through with a differrent price so i phoned to ask why. i had been offered opt 2 for 15.99 but got 19.99. then said i wanted to go to opt 1 instead and what could he offer me that for - 15.99 the same as was prev offered for opt 2??? i asked if that was the best he could do and i knew people that had been given better deals...one in a lon llu area like myself got the 7.49 but he wouldnt budge and said that was the best he could do. His manner in not helping or even assuring me that the original price quoted would be honoured prob made me throw my teddy in the corner so i asked for my mac code instead and thought i would just try another advisor another day. the original woman i spoke to was lovely and really helpful, the complete oposite to the last one. She told me to phone up again in a year to see what else they could offer me. I thought BT wanted to keep customers so cant understand why he wasnt willing to offer me the same deal she had? Saying that my new hub got delivered today.....so not sure what the hell is going on now.
  • I've just phoned them to ask for my Mac Code (3 weeks until contract runs out) and was immediately offered a £12 reduction in my BT BB Option 3. Didn't take it though, I'd rather investigate my options and see if I can find a provider that isn't introducing Phorm.

Interestingly the bloke I spoke to didn't have a clue what Phorm was and told me that he was sure BT wouldn't monitor internet use without permission. I then told him that they already had and were being investigated by the CPS about it...

I phoned BT this morning to find out my options as my contract ran out last month. I have been paying £63 per month for BB and line rental and calls. Got it all reduced to just £30 per month for free calls anytime and Option 3 broadband and 4.50 line rental for a 12 month contract. Result in my eyes

BT has very tiny print which says unlimited evening and weekend calls are for calls made over the internet.

If in an LLu area the bt retention offers are as follows.
    Option 1 £7.49
    Option 2 £13.49
    Option 3 £15.49
please allow for lower prices due vat reduction and a 12 month contract if you take the offer.

Any BT broadband customer in or out of contract can take 6 months free then normal rental on an 18 month contract.
If not in LLU area the prices are as follows.

    Option 1 £12.99
    Option 2 £15.99
    Option 3 £19.99

12 month contract but still can take 6 months free on an 18 month contract.

  • syko29793, my contract expired yesterday so I've just phoned BT and have received the Option 3 £15.49 deal that you mentioned. Plus they're sending me a new black Home Hub + Hub Phone (via Parcel Force next Thursday). I'm very pleased :j

All I had to do was dial 150 to check when my contract ran out (I knew it would be about now) and asked what my options were. I was put through to Customer Options, so I explained the above and asked whether BT had anything to offer before I chose to shop around? (I had no intention of leaving BT in the first place, but these things have to be said to get a discount, don't they?).

The lady made it clear that although my bills would show the same rental figures, they would also include a credit for £7.50 per month.

I'm very happy. Thanks syko29793
